Alex Hacopian, M.D

Alex Hacopian, M.D. is a comprehensive ophthalmologist who performs cataract surgery, refractive surgery, as well as the medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma and medical management of diabetic eye disease and age-related macular degeneration.
Dr. Hacopian grew up in Houston, Texas and attended the University of Texas at Austin where he graduated with Honors with degrees in Neurobiology and Psychology. He went on to medical school at the University of Texas at Houston where he also completed a General Surgery internship at Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. Dr. Hacopian completed his ophthalmology residency at the George Washington University in Washington, DC where he served as Chief Resident his senior year before moving to Abilene to join Abilene Eye Institute.
Dr. Hacopian lives in Abilene, Texas with his wife, Katy. They are both happy to be back in Texas with her family in Waco and his family in Houston. Hobbies include traveling, watching live music, outdoor sports and grilling.
Dr. Hacopian is thankful for the opportunity to care for patients in Abilene and the Big Country and looks forward to continuing the legacy of his predecessors at Abilene Eye Institute.
