OPHTHALMOLOGIST

Rocky McAdams, MD. is an ophthalmologist whose special interests include cataract surgery, refractive surgery, general family ophthalmology, andsurgical treatment of glaucoma, and medical treatment of diabetic care and age-related macular degeneration.

Dr. McAdams completed his undergraduate studies at Hardin-Simmons University, here, in Abilene, Texas. Dr. McAdams received his medical degree in 2008 from the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, Texas. His surgical and trauma internship was completed at Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas. He completed his residency at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas.

Dr. McAdams was raised in Sudan, Texas where he worked on the family farm and participated in high school sports. He graduated valedictorian of his high school class. He went on to Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas where he played varsity football. Dr. McAdams graduated Summa Cum Laude and was awarded the Julius Olsen Medal for top scholar of his graduating class.

Dr. McAdams lives in Abilene, Texas with his wife Amy and two children. Dr. McAdams enjoys spending time with his family. His other hobbies include: watching sports, playing golf and outdoor water activities.

Dr. McAdams wants his patients to know that he will follow the Abilene Eye Institute tradition of providing compassionate medical and surgical ophthalmic care to his patients.
